SONOMA, CALIFORNIA (June 7, 2024) – ECR Engines is back on track for another road course race, the second of the 2024 season thus far, for the NASCAR Cup Series and the third for the Xfinity Series. Just last weekend, ‘big power’ showed up and performed its way into victory lane with Kaulig Racing’s Shane Van Gisbergen. The driver better known as “SVG”, led the No. 97 Chevrolet Camaro to the finish line and claimed the checkered flag at the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Portland International Raceway. Four of the 13 Xfinity Series races so far this season have resulted in ECR Engines ending up in victory lane, not to mention 48 top-10 finishes between both the Cup and Xfinity series. With half of the regular season for both the Cup and Xfinity Series in the books, ECR is looking forward to the tracks that are yet to come and cashing in on all the hard work and effort that the 100 ECR employees put in each day and every race.
A wide variety of tracks are ahead of schedule, but the one aspect that never changes is the importance of track position to start each race. With all the ECR Engine’s cars combined this season, ECR has qualified in the top-10 starting positions 46 times in the Xfinity Series with each of their teams, which includes Richard Childress Racing, Kaulig Racing, Jordan Anderson Racing, Big Machine Racing, and Our Motorsports. With the aforementioned 48 top-10 finishes, that brings ECR’s starting and finishing averages in the top-10s to 104.34 percent.
ECR engines in the NASCAR Cup Series have a 163 percent chance of finishing top-10 with an ECR Engine when starting top-10 for the 2024 season thus far. Eleven times this season, ECR has started in the top-10 and displayed more than enough ‘big power’ to pull 18 total top-10 finishes in the series. Two of those top-10 finishes came from Kaulig Racing’s No. 31 Chevrolet Camaro driver Daniel Hemric. Hemric started twice outside of the top-10 back-to-back but proceeded to move his way up through the field thanks to ECR’s power and finish eighth and ninth respectively at Kansas Speedway and Dover Motor Speedway.
As with most sports, motorsports in particular, a little luck goes a long way, but it’s the preparation and strategy from ECR that sets these drivers and teams up for success. These manufactured race engines provide the performance and reliability needed to start and finish each race in the front of the field, the proof being in the stats.
After a successful season in 2023 with ECR’s road course engine combination, ECR plans to refine last year’s setup going into Sonoma Raceway with updated developments. Senior Vice President Bob Fisher is honored to work with such strong alliances who value teamwork and work hard each week with the support of ECR’s engine tuners to ensure their speed and reliability.
“Between ECR and our partnership teams, we possess all essentials for success, our plan is to win by exhibiting the result of preparation and opportunity converging on the track at Sonoma Raceway this weekend,” said Fisher.
Following Sonoma Raceway, NASCAR will head to Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nashville. For the first time in Cup Series history, the top-tier series will take to Iowa Speedway’s ⅞ mile oval. After ECR gets loud in Loudon at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, the teams will head to Nashville where ECR swept the weekend in 2023, and where they hope to repeat that sweep this season.
